THE CALIFORNIA WINE COUNTRY
This is where I live. There are other places that grow grapes. There are other vineyards. To me the elegance of Alexander Valley and Dry Creek Valley as they sit nestled between the Maacama and the Coastal ranges is spectacular. I walk between rows of vines. I witness the morning sun, golden through the mist from the Russian River. I watch the grapes ripen on their vines. I hear the call of the raven in flight. I know of a rare and gentle beauty beyond any I have known before. I wait with my camera for that moment when light and image match vision and imagination. All that is left is the sound of my shutter. The wine here is very good, too.
